Profile
The Diploma Course Counselling and Psychotherapy is initiated in the Academic year 2018-19. It is a UGC funded course and is run free of cost. This course suits the people of all age group from any discipline. It is not simply meant for the psychiatrist or counsellor but also relevant for all the professionals and business people. These two years the course has witnessed the students from various professions like teaching, other government sectors, NGO, alternative medicine (Siddha, Ayurvedic, Acupuncture), business administration, commerce, banking. The people like teachers, retired teachers, government officials, non-teaching staff from central universities, have shown greater interest to enrol for this course and also have enthusiastically completed.
Added to its benefits, MoU is assigned with various industries like Good hope family Counselling centre, Madurai. The students are given hands on training and practice to be fit with the concerned profession .Much care is given for the training and internship.
Programme Outcome
PSO1To practice or provide Consultancy in private sectors.
PSO2To utilize their own skills in their profession like teaching, law, nursing, medical practice, HRM, Family etc.
PSO3To work with a Psychiatrist, Sexologist, Gynaecologist, Infertility Clinic or general practitioner.
PSO4To work in a Multi-Speciality Hospital (all that is required in ones relationship with the concerned specialist).
