Achievements

• 20 research papers were published by our faculties in Scopus indexed journals for the past three years.
• HOD with 36 Years of teaching experience.
• Head of the Department Dr. S. Ramaswamy, had beenawarded “நன்னெறிபேராசிரியர்விருது” by Madurai IllakiyaMandram and Sri Arunnachala Educational Trust, Madurai in the year 2021.
• Mr. M. Vatsan, I M.Sc., (Physics) of our department attended 24 NCC camps, and won the “Silver Medal” in all over India cadet competition.
• Mrs. S. Nagadeepa, Assistant Professor of PG Physics have got the Institutional sponsored student research project entitled “Development and Characterization of proton battery using biomaterial (onion peel)”.
• Dr. D. Ruby Josephine, Assistant professor of PG Physics had conducted online quiz competition entitled”SPACE EXPLORA- 2020” on account of annular solar eclipse on 21st June 2020.
• Dr. P. P. Kannan, Assistant Professor of PG Physics had conducted online Physics Quiz competition during June 2nd to 12th 2020.
• Dr. D. Ruby Josephine, Assistant Professor of PG Physics completed Institutional sponsored student research project entitled “Free Energy Generation”.
• Our department student (Mr. S. JowfurSadiq Raja) participated in “Inter collegiate Physics Meet – PHYXPLOSION 2020” held at Lady Doak College, Madurai and won the first prize in paper presentation.
• Ph.D., public viva voce was successfully defended by P.P. Kannan on 31.01.2020 with the title “Dielectric studies, spectrometric studies and theoretical calculations on the molecular interactions of binary polar-polar liquid mixtures”.
• One of our faculty members Dr. P.P. Kannan presented his research paper and won the award of “Best Poster Presentation” in National Seminar on Advanced Materials - 2020 held at Jamal Mohammed College, Tiruchirappalli.
• Dr. M. Alagar, Former HOD had received “Excellence Award” in recognition of significant contribution to Research/Academic Development/Social Welfare in the academic year 2019 – 2020 by AyyaNadarJanakiAmmal College Committee (Educational Agency), Sivakasi.
• Dr. M. Alagar convened a two days (10th and 11th October 2019) Science exhibition “EQUIP 2019” of all science Departments of our college to Madurai district higher secondary school students.
• Ph.D., public viva voce was successfully defended by D. Ruby Josephine on 22.08.2019 with the title “Studies on Synthesis, Characterization and applications of Pristine Graphene oxide and Functionalized monolayer Graphene oxide nanosheets”.
