Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College is an Autonomous Institution dedicated to excellence in teaching and research, The Intellectual Property Rights Cell was established in 2023.It plays a vital role in gaining an advantageous position in this institution with an objective to facilitate the protection of intellectual property, promote innovation and support the development of products based on research and creative endeavours. The major challenge before the organization in the coming years to create a culture of IPR regime so that creative work and innovations are protected . Its activities are centered on faculty, students, research scholars, supporting staffs and innovators. The IPR cell offer college is committed to encourage the creativity and innovation that happens on its premises leading to generation of intellectual property. This cell extends services to the inhouse scholars as well as the public of our locality.
Objectives
- To encourage faculty members research scholars and students to involve patentable works
- To conduct workshops, seminars and training course on IPR
- To facilitate proper understanding of a wide range of legal concepts with regard to copy rights trademarks patents, geographical indication and industrial design and models
- To promote technology advancements for quality of life and environment protection
- To commercialize the intellectual property owned by the institution and share the revenue among the stake holders
