Profile

The Department of Mathematics of our College was started in the academic year 1979 -1980. It was upgraded into a Post – Graduate department in the academic year 1986 -1987 and M. Phil Degree course has been introduced in the academic year 2000-2001.The Department was upgraded as research department on 23.02.2017.

Our department has a team of qualified, experienced and dedicated 9 faculty members in which 7 are doctorates, 2 are pursuing. Three faculty members are qualified with TNSET. The department has five (2 Rtd.) recognized guides. Our department is specialized in Topology, Graph Theory, Fuzzy Graphs, Fuzzy Optimization Techniques and Stochastic Inventory Systems. 6 Ph.D candidates have registered under the guidance of our department guides. Our faculty members completed four Institutional Sponsored Faculty Research Project. Two Institutional Sponsored Student Research Projects are ongoing and one project has been approved by MHRD Minor Project under UBA. All our classrooms are facilitated with LCD projectors and our department library is equipped with 1484 books.

  • To provide sufficient knowledge on computer programming skills.
  • To motivate the students to face various competitive examinations like UPSC, TNPSC, SSC, IBPS etc.
  • To enhance the entrepreneurial abilities and Research initiatives.
  • To explore the new avenues in respective domains and raise their employability ratio.
  • To equip with Soft skills and Critical thinking to produce an erudite and trustworthy generation to fit into versatile situations through Collaboration with Industry and Alumni.
  • To adhere to the ethical and environmental sustainability to create morally upright and empowered citizens to face industry/ institution.
