The Library was established in 1980 with an initial collection of 3,100 books. Today, it has grown to include 61,575 books and 71 international and national journals and magazines. Originally located in the main building, the Library moved to a new facility spanning 12,521 square feet in 2011, which features various dedicated sections.
In 2009, the Library introduced an automated Library Management System (LMS) and an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The following year, in 2010, barcode technology was implemented, and e-gate entry was established. Additionally, since 2009, study materials for visually impaired students have been provided.
In 2017, the Library has introduced the SwayamPrabha Free 32 DTH channel.
