INDUSTRY-ACADEMIA COLLABORATION “SERVICE EXCELLENCE IN RETAIL, HOSPITAL, BANKING AND INSURANCE”
The Department of Business Administration, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai, organized a two day UGC sponsored National Seminar on “SERVICE EXCELLENCE IN RETAIL, HOSPITAL, BANKING AND INSURANCE” on 19.03.2013 and 20.03.2013 in collaboration with VIKRAM MULTISPECIALTY HOSPITAL, MADURAI. The National seminar had its inauguration on 19.03.2013 by Dr. V. Narayanasamy, Chairman, Vikram Multi Specialty Hospital, and Madurai and emphasized on ‘Qualities of Service Excellence’ in Multi specialty Retailing Sector.
The first technical session was chaired by Mrs. Punitha Gibson on Service excellence in Retail Sector. Dr. (Capt). Augustus Samuel Dodd chaired the second session on Service excellence in Hospitals. The Third session was chaired by Mr. R. Chandrasekaran, Senior Divisional Manager, New India Insurance, Chennai, on Service excellence in Insurance. Mr. M. Suresh Kumar, Chief Manager, Canara Bank, Sivagangai , was the chairman for the fourth session on Service excellence in Banking sector.
- 34 Research Articles has been published in the seminar which provided a platform for our faculty members to interact with professionals from Retail Industry.
- The Seminar gave the exposure to the unexposed areas and further to addressed how to win and keep customers back.
“Tourism Industry in India: Challenges & opportunities”
The Department of Commerce, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai, organized a one day UGC sponsored National Seminar on “Tourism Industry in India: Challenges & opportunities” on 12.08.2013 in collaboration with TRAVELS CLUB, MADURAI. The National seminar had its inauguration on 12.08.2013 by Mr.P.S.G.Musthafa, President, Travels Club, and Madurai and emphasized on Challenges and opportunities in Travels Service.
The first technical session was chaired by Dr.Y. Venkata Rao, Department of Tourism,Pondicherry University on Tourism Industry in India. Mr.R.Radhakrishnan, Air India, chaired the second session on Challenges & opportunities in Tourism in India. The Third session was chaired by Dr. R. Kannan, Head, Department of Hotel Management & Science, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, on Hospitality Management & Tourism Industry.
- 40 Research Articles has been published in the seminar in Tourism related topics.
- More than 50 participants took part in the seminar in and around India.
FOOD SAFETY AND CONSUMER HEALTH
The Department of Economics and Consumer Club, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai in collaboration with Anil Semiya , Idayam Gingelly Oil, SNP Dairy Milk, Vajramala Agro Foods organized one day regional seminar on “ Food Safety and Consumer Health” on 25th October 2016.
The Collaborative organizations provided their products to street vendors to create awareness about unadulterated and quality food products. Around 300 street vendors are benefited through this programme.
